Exiled Voices Sponsorships

In celebration of City of Asylum’s 10th anniversary on October 18, 2014, our publishing arm, Sampsonia Way will publish English translations of the writing that caused the persecution of the writers who came to live at City of Asylum Pittsburgh.

A series of 5 books is planned — one for each writer.

Two books have been translated and published already, underwritten by private donors: a selection of Huang Xiang’s poetry called A Lifetime is a Promise to Keep and Israel Centeno’s novel, The Conspiracy. To complete the project, we are now seeking your help. Each book costs approximately $6000 to translate and publish. Our goal is to translate and publish books by Horacio Castellanos Moya, Khet Mar, and Yaghoub Yadali by October 18, so our total budget is $18,000.
