Archipelago Books is a not-for-profit press committed to translating into English and publishing works of classic and contemporary literature from all corners of the world.  The editions are also distinguished as books—they are superbly translated, well-crafted, and inexpensively priced.  In its first three years, Archipelago has brought out 22 books, translated from over a dozen languages. Archipelago was created out of the need to hear diverse voices from varied literary traditions that simply aren’t being heard.
